Scottish Butterflies & Thistles Collection

This design collection was inspired by the beautiful, Scottish Peacock Butterfly and the way it flies in and among the thistles during late Summer. The peacock-like spot from which the name is derived is so eye-catching and adapted to reflect the rich purple of the thistles at that time of year.. 

My design was created following a series of watercolour studies of the butterflies. I then layered these over a more graphical silhouette of a thistle thicket to give the impression of movement against the static flowers.

The design comes in three different background colour ways, Dark Purple, Cream or Teal. All look very different.
